Basic Introduction

The National Palace Museum is the largest museum in Taiwan and one of the eight scenic spots in Taiwan. It receives more than 6 million domestic and foreign visitors a year and ranks among the top art museums in the world. The National Palace Museum in Taipei is also an important center for the study of ancient Chinese art history and Sinology, with nearly 700,000 cultural relics in its collection, especially famous for its collection of ancient Chinese art.

The "Charming Tour of the Forbidden City" mobile tour app is Fly. The official mobile tour app developed by Creative Interactive and the National Palace Museum in Taipei for the first time.

The museum hopes that through this mobile navigation app, people at home and abroad who love the cultural relics of the Forbidden City can easily browse the exhibitions and activities of the Forbidden City and learn about the selected cultural relics in the collection. The collection of the Forbidden City is very rich, and there are quite a lot of content that can be introduced, so the content of the design team is condensed into several major units such as blessings of the Forbidden City, collection selection, exhibitions and activities, about the Forbidden City, and community sharing.

The implementation of the "Forbidden City Charming Tour" project started in 2011, went online in 2012, and retired from the APP Store in 2016. Users who have installed it can continue to use it normally.

Concept of Design

Under the stable and solid tone of the Forbidden City, in addition to making the official APP very useful, is it possible to play something different? Can sparks be sparked?

The design team carefully examined all requirements and simplified the APP content into several large units:

The "Collected Collection" APP collects the cultural relics selected by the Forbidden City, including paintings, calligraphy, books, documents, ceramics... and other themes. If you want to visit online immediately, please come here!

"Blessings from the Forbidden City" is a more interesting unit. You will get a blessing card specially made by the Forbidden City in two interesting ways.

"About the Forbidden City" provides basic visiting information such as opening hours, ticket prices, visiting guides, floor introductions, visiting instructions, maps, and traffic guides.

"Community Sharing" can share the "Forbidden City Charming Tour" mobile tour APP to social networking sites, so that more friends can install and use it.

Color Scheme

Dark red, the standard color of the Forbidden City, is the main color system, with beige as the auxiliary color

Dark red and beige are the main color combinations, and the red color is applied to the overall interface with gradients.

Each unit will be matched with different materials and colors, so that each unit can have more possibilities for matching.

Blessing of the Forbidden City

The design team conceived a more interesting unit "Blessings of the Forbidden City". In the Forbidden City Charm Tour APP, you will get a special blessing card made by the Forbidden City in two interesting ways.

The design team suggested that the Forbidden City can use its rich collection of pictures, whether it is calligraphy, painting or utensils, to select 6 series, such as love, studies, career... and other themes that modern people care about, with the blessing text specially written by copywriters, It is made into 30 unique blessing cards of the National Palace Museum in Taipei, so that the treasures and artworks hundreds of years ago are ingeniously connected with modern people in this way.

You have two ways to get it: "Blessing Card Box" and "Flying Blessing"~

No matter where you are in any corner of the world, even if you don’t have internet, it’s OK. Just hold the mobile phone and open the Forbidden City Charm Tour app, shake it left and right a few times, you will hear the voice of “Konglong~Konglong~”, and then you will see the APP In it, just like Yao Qiantong, a card fell into the wooden box, which was one of the twenty cards selected by the Forbidden City.

Flying blessing

When you come to the National Palace Museum in Taipei to visit in person, as long as the APP detects that you have stayed for more than 30 minutes, and when you leave the Forbidden City for more than 5 kilometers, the APP will pop up a message asking you to cover the front of the phone with your hand, and then take your hand away, and it will close. To a limited edition card selected from ten cards, if you come to visit the National Palace Museum in Taipei, there will be one~

The design team feels that this approach is too blunt and difficult to use.

Therefore, all the images in the "Forbidden City Charm Tour" app have been prepared by the Forbidden City to prepare high-resolution files, so that users can present them in a full-screen, segmented, and segment-free manner. Scrolling up and down, you can also zoom in to see the details, so that the ancient calligraphy and painting can be clearly displayed on the small screen of the mobile phone.
